Head teacher will consult with caretaker on site.

If a decision is made to close the school, the Head teacher will inform the Local Authority who will place a notice on the Middlesbrough Council Website. A notice will also appear on the school website and parents may also receive a text message. Local Radio stations may also publish the school closure on their websites. The following stations will announce the closure at half hourly intervals: TFM, Century and Galaxy. A text message will be sent to all parents to notify them.

The Head Teacher will notify teachers and lunchtime supervisors, the Deputy Head will notify other support staff.

Where possible a message will be left on the school answering machine but this may not always be feasible.

If heavy snow falls during the day the school may close early.

In this instance a text message will be sent to all parents to notify them and ask them to arrange collection of their children.

A member of staff will take calls to make any alternative arrangements for collection of pupils.

The Head teacher and another member of staff will remain with any children who are unable to be collected early.
